The Galapagos land iguana is a beautiful iguana species which stands out because of its yellow color. Two species can be found on the Galapagos Islands, namely the subcristatus and the pallidus. The pallidus can only be found on the island of Santa Fe. Subcristatus is more widespread on the islands, with a total of between 5,000 and 10,000 individuals. They grow about 1 meter in size and weigh about 13kg. They live in small colonies and live off leaves and fruits of the cacti but can also eat insects.
