On the shore of Las Salinas de Calpe, the salt lake on the Spanish coast, a young flamingo moves slowly through the shallow water. The light waves reflect the sky, framing the bird in a subtle pattern of blue, white and beige. As it seeks its balance on one leg, it seems to listen to the rhythm of the water - a hushed moment full of grace.
The composition is simple but powerful: plenty of white space, soft colours and a calm reflection that gives the image a picturesque look. The natural light accentuates the bird's flowing lines and highlights the serene atmosphere so characteristic of Calpe's salt lakes.
This sculpture exudes peace and harmony and brings a touch of Mediterranean softness to any interior. It pairs beautifully with "Young flamingo brushes its feathers" from the same series - together they form a balanced diptych in which silence, light and movement subtly complement each other.
