About ‘Zaanse Schans’ by Erik Jan Kaper

I was born in Koog aan de Zaan, near the Zaanse Schans in what is now Zaanstad, North Holland, the Netherlands.
I don’t know if it’s because of this, but I have a passion for windmills, wherever they may be and whatever type they are.
I took this photo from the Juliana Bridge, which spans the River Zaan.
Late in the afternoon, I saw these beautiful clouds illuminated by the setting sun, casting a golden reflection across the waters of the Zaan.
The green hues of the Zaan always lend a lovely colour to the windmills and cottages of the Zaanse Schans.
The Zaanse Schans is visited by a great many tourists, which is why the name of the Dutch Railways station was changed from Koog Zaandijk to Zaandijk Zaanse Schans – making it clearer for tourists travelling from afar.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
