About "Zebra"

About the artwork

Zebras live in different landscapes such as savannas, grasslands and mountainous areas. They are herbivores that eat mainly grass; they can survive on very poor soil. Their biggest natural enemy is the lion. Overall, they are very social animals. Zebras live with several harems together in a larger herd. Steppe and mountain zebras live in harems with one stallion, several mares and their foals. Grévyzebras often live solitary or in loose groups. Zebras communicate through sounds, body posture and facial expressions. When zebras are attacked, they protect each other by acting in groups.

Zebras are striking animals and have played a role in art and mythology for centuries. Man has never really succeeded in domesticating them, unlike horses and donkeys, their closest relatives. Their panic instinct in the face of danger proved difficult to unlearn. The quagga, a subspecies of the steppe zebra, became extinct in the 19th century. Although the zebra is finding it increasingly difficult due to fragmentation of their natural habitat, there are stable populations in protected game reserves.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
