A branch with five lanterns. Little delicate works of art they are, the first so beautifully orange-coloured seed pods of Physalis, a much-loved garden plant. Late in autumn or spring, you find the lacy skeletons. They are the veins that gave strength to the cheerful orange bulbs. If you pick them up with caution and store them, you can enjoy them for a very long time. As I couldn't choose between colour and black and white, I also made a black and white version.
