About ‘joinvill a street’ by anne droogsma

The construction of Joinville Castle in 1027 by Steven van Vaux marks the origins of the principality. This castle was built on the Haute Butte, a hill overlooking a meander of the Marne. In the Middle Ages, the lords of Joinville were among the most important in the Champagne region. Under François de Guise, Joinville was elevated to a principality by Henry II in 1552. Since Steven van Vaux, Joinville has always had a lord or lady. The principality was successively owned by the houses of Joinville, Lorraine and Orléans.

During the 12th century, Joinville developed on the banks of the Marne around the Church of Notre-Dame. In 1163, the collegiate church of Saint-Laurent was built. This became the burial church of the lords of Joinville. In 1258, Joinville was granted a town charter. Joinville also acquired a city wall. Joinville benefited from its position on the border between France and the Holy Roman Empire. The city was besieged by the army of Emperor Charles V in 1544 and went up in flames. Claude of Lorraine began the reconstruction. In 1552, King Henry II made the Dukes of Guise princes of Joinville. In addition to the feudal castle on the hilltop, a new Renaissance castle was built on the banks of the Marne, the Château du Grand Jardin. New Renaissance-style buildings also appeared in the town. Furthermore, a hospital and two monasteries were established.

In 1791, Louis Philippe II of Orléans was lord of Joinville. That year, he sold the dilapidated feudal castle, which was subsequently demolished.[4]

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
