A leaf skeleton is a leaf whose mesophyll has been digested. Only the veins remain. This gossamer work of art gave the leaf firmness and ensured transport of water and nutrients. It looks just like filigree and you sometimes just find it among the fallen leaves in autumn or early spring. To emphasise its delicacy, I chose a light uniform background and kept the colour and contrast very soft.
