Along the Gibb River Road you will find a number of cattle stations still in operation. These mega farms are often as big as a whole Dutch province. Usually you can also stay here. Charnley River Station is such a station halfway along the Gibb River Road. The area of 100 by 80 km lends itself perfectly to beautiful tours on foot or by 4WD. At the gorge in this picture you can also make a canoe trip. Usually you are one of the few tourists at these kind of cattle stations and since the few tourists that are there are spread out over the vast area you are often all alone in a beautiful setting.
