About the artwork

House Honselaarsdijk is a former hunting lodge in Honselersdijk, Westland, South Holland. Only the outbuilding the Nederhof is still there, with the former guest quarters, horse stables and coach house.

Huis Honselaarsdijk was built in the Middle Ages as a castle for the lords of Hunsel and Naaldwijk, and achieved its greatest fame when it was owned by Prince Frederik Hendrik of Orange in the first half of the 17th century. He demolished the castle and put a hunting lodge in its place. Renowned Dutch and French architects, garden designers, painters and sculptors, such as Arent van 's-Gravesande, Bartholomeus van Bassen and Jacob van Campen, were brought in to do this. The palace was spacious and had large gardens, statues, fountains and a maliebaan.

With Honselaarsdijk as his country residence, hunting lodge and art gallery, Frederick Henry underlined his increased status as sovereign prince of the principality of Orange and stadholder of most provinces in the Republic of the Seven United Provinces. He held grand feasts there and received important guests.

Carolus Allard, also called Karolis, Carel Allard or Allardt (Amsterdam, Holland, Netherlands, baptized January 19, 1648 - buried February 1, 1709), was a Dutch publisher and engraver.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
