Antelope Canyon - USA on canvas, poster, wallpaper and ArtFrame by Tony Buijse

The Lower Antelope Canyon. Although it is one of the smallest canyons in the state of Arizona, it is one of the most popular destinations for visitors. The canyon is characterized by its narrow passages and smooth sanded walls. The walls show a fine line structure that has been created by thousands of years of erosion. In this structure a wave pattern can be seen that produces very nice images because of the special light. Because mud flows regularly through this canyon, a walk is not without danger. When a so called Flash Flood enters the canyon, the canyon can be completely full in a few minutes. The water can then rise fifteen meters in a short time. Nowadays the Lower Antelope Canyon can only be visited for safety reasons under the guidance of a guide. During a visit I got the opportunity to make some nice pictures. Due to the crack at the top of the canyon, only a limited amount of light comes. When this light falls on the walls, the beautifully undulating structure is nicely accentuated and also provides a subtle hue of warm tones. The interplay of light structure and shades of color give the Antilope Canyon a certain abstraction. With the photos I made in the canyon, I want to show this abstraction. In addition, I found it important to let the warm tone of the rock come into its own. By giving the light itself a central place in the photos, the photos get a positive image. It is precisely this positivity that I grant to everyone.
