Cultural Landscape on canvas, poster, wallpaper and ArtFrame by Floris Kok

CONCEPTUAL LANDSCAPE There is no escaping the presence of man on our earth. Although there are places where this is not immediately apparent, there are almost no landscapes in the industrialized world that manage to hide their presence despite the absence of this human. The hand of man reaches far beyond our horizon. In my conceptual landscape series I depict aspects of human actions that shape our landscape. PAYSAGE CULTURAL This series was created traveling along the parallel B-roads of the Route du Soleil. Where the agricultural landscape is only interspersed with small sleepy French villages. Paysage culturel is the French term for Cultural Landscape; A landscape that, unlike a natural landscape, has been shaped by humans. Although the landscape is completely free of human presence, buildings and architectural elements and consists solely of natural elements, the presence of humans is unmistakable.
