Imagine, a city born in the early Middle Ages. During the late Middle Ages it grew into a thriving trading city. Many of the old trading houses from the period are still preserved. Looking at the works of Old Colmar you have the feeling that time has stood still. Beautiful houses built in the typical Alsace half-timbered style. The half-timbered houses look very German, but the atmosphere in the city of Colmar is really typical French.
