Tsjernobyl artwork on canvas, poster, wallpaper and ArtFrame by Karl Smits

After 33 years, I visited the 'Chernobyl Exclusion Zone where the largest nuclear disaster in the world occurred on April 26, 1986. With a private guide I visited several locations in the zone, including the largest city called Pripyat that housed 50,000 inhabitants at the time. The 'Chernobyl' series that was broadcast by HBO caused a lot of controversy, and boosted tourism towards the zone. The photos in the next album testify why.
