The composition is dominated by a seemingly infinite, diagonally reaching upwards external staircase, which visually contrasts with the vertical, ribbed facade of a building. The stairs themselves are a study in contrast; the steps are dark, while the handrails and underlying structure are bright white, highlighting the path upwards. The background consists of two different architectural textures: on the left, the repetitive, cylindrical panels that create a rhythmic pattern, and on the right, the sleek, glass curtain wall of an adjacent skyscraper. This juxtaposition of materials - metal and glass - enhances the urban, industrial feel of the sculpture. The bright blue sky at the top offers a sharp contrast to the grey tones of the buildings.
