Siets (Sietske Pelgrum, 1986) is an autonomous artist from Enschede, the Netherlands. Her work explores themes of consciousness, transformation and life cycles. The images arise intuitively, as a visual translation of inner movement.
She works with digital drawings, paintings and mixed media. The colourful, figurative compositions connect humans and animals in fluid forms, influenced by surrealism, expressionism and symbolism.
Siets works from her studio at artists' initiative B93 in Enschede. She also creates commissioned personal works around moments of transition, such as birth, loss and other important transitions in life.
