I take photographs because I love to look. At people, at buildings, at landscapes, at light and at the small details that are easily lost in the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
My photography cannot be pigeonholed. Street photography appeals to me because of the unexpected: a glance, a posture, a chance encounter or a moment that lasts only a few seconds. In abstract photography, on the other hand, I seek out form, rhythm, lines, contrast and beauty without the subject having to explain itself.
Architecture and landscapes also appeal to me greatly. There, I can play with perspective, structure, space and light. Sometimes a building is just a building. Until you look at it differently.
My many years of experience have taught me that a good photograph isn’t necessarily taken with the most expensive equipment or in the most spectacular location. It starts with curiosity, patience and the ability to see something that others might miss.
I love to experiment, explore different styles and create images that are not only beautiful but also evoke something – a feeling, a memory, a question mark.
My photography is therefore, above all, a quest for the extraordinary in the ordinary.
From the streets of Dendermonde to an abandoned building, from a sweeping landscape to a detail that suddenly becomes an abstract work of art:
