About ‘What the mist conceals’ by Filip D´hooghe

Where the mist quietly holds the world in its grip

A wispy mist casts an almost palpable silence over the landscape. The bare trees stand as dark silhouettes along the bank, their branches delicately stretched out against the pale, misty sky. Everything seems to move in slow motion: the horizon fades away, details dissolve, and the landscape takes on a timeless and elusive quality.

The two birds high up in the frame provide a small but powerful counterpoint. They bring movement to a world that otherwise seems to have come to a complete standstill. Their flight suggests freedom, whilst the trees below radiate a sense of tranquillity, transience and stillness.

The strong black-and-white tones emphasise this contrast. The grain and soft contrasts lend the image an almost analogue, melancholic atmosphere, as if the landscape had emerged from an old memory. The dark path in the foreground gently guides the eye towards the trees and then further into the mist. A photograph that does not so much show where you are, but above all lets you feel what it was like there.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
