Hans den Boer: drive and perfection (and a touch of humour)
For freelance photographer Hans den Boer (1958) photography is a constant search for beautiful subjects. In the rugged Scottish countryside he is always on his way to a beautiful, mysterious or mystical place. In order to make the perfect photo there, he patiently waits for the right light, or comes back the next year if necessary.
When he works with a model, he searches for the beauty of lines, strong theatrical poses or he makes a figure study of strength or movement. The basis of photographing people is always interaction and communication, be it children, groups or (nude) models.
