Aboard his sailboat, architect Joost Doude van Troostwijk travels all over the world. He captures this life in nature to bring back into your living or working environment.
His works are particularly suitable for "Biophilic Design" interiors. This design method brings natural aspects back into the living environment of modern people. These could be natural colours, plants, images from nature, natural materials, spatial depth or extra (sunlight) light. Our primal human inside is programmed to respond to these stimuli. By bringing a little more nature into your environment, you become more productive, creative and experience less stress.
Joost comes from creative families through both father (architect) and mother (seamstress). For instance, the works of painter Wouter van Troostwijk hang in the Rijksmuseum, he is the second cousin of Dutch photographer Wout Berger and the artworks of his grandmother Ada Berger and aunt Monique Berger adorn many walls. After studying architecture in Delft, he worked for several years at various architecture firms before casting off the mooring lines and heading out into the world in 2021.
