KARI aka Sergio Karijopawiro graduated from the art academy Hogeschool voor de kunsten Tilburg as a 4-dimensional artist (film and installations). In daily life, he is a visual arts teacher in Eindhoven. He is also known as Tachini, an EDM live artist and former resident of Dommelvallei and club Poema with various performances at different venues such as Effenaar, Tivoli, Paradiso, Nighttown, Simplon and more.... KARI goes back to his roots where he trades technology for craft. He creates his own "AI" (Analogue Intelligence) by applying the cut-and-paste sample principle, which he perfected for aural art as Tachini, to the creation of visual art. From existing materials, glossy magazines to used canvas, everything is reused, they are the tokens of his AI and the samples for his cut and paste work methodology. Structures in form and colour are KARI's inspiration and are evident in his new compositions and chosen themes.
