"When I draw, I'm in my private heaven!" - Fiep Westendorp- My name is Marieke Klok (1982) and I am a visual artist. I developed through self-study and various courses (self-taught). Drawing and painting have become my passion and my second nature. In between courses, I am almost always busy creating new work. Sources of inspiration for this can be: other cultures, nomads, 'old ladies', dancing, boxing, nature, someone on the street or in the train or a photo that touches me from the newspaper. In my home studio, I enjoy giving drawing lessons to children and teenagers. I give weekly art lessons to children at a primary school, and every other week I visit the children's ward of Hospital Gelderse Vallei in Ede to draw for the children. I do this as an artist on behalf of the Foundation Drawing for Children. You will see that my work is very diverse. I like to draw with pen and ink, but I also like to combine different techniques.
