About Marinel Vieleers

Marinel Vieleers (1944) started as a visual artist in bronze and later in mixed materials. Her paintings have always complemented these.

Marinel is fascinated by the beauty of the imperfect. She also incorporates this in her paintings.
The layering of age, decay. The imperfection created by chance makes a house, a wall, a fence, wood or stone captivating. It is lived-in and it shows a piece of its history.
She applies this especially in her abstract work.

In her figurative work, she also works (as in all her work) sketchily, intuitively thereby letting coincidences stand and emerge while painting. Nothing is perfect: neither man nor life itself, and this is reflected in her work.
After creating a series of large human figures in her sculptures, she started painting them too.

Marinel Vieleers' work is exhibited at home and abroad and is purchased by private individuals and larger companies.
