About Marjolijn Broekema
I work on my drawings from my studio, De Glaskamer. I love patterns, colour and line, and I’m always searching for the right combination of form, material and colour to suit the mood of the moment. My work is colourful, graphic and hand-drawn.
My themes often revolve around people sleeping, reading, loving one another or simply losing themselves in their own world.
It is the small, intimate moments that often pass us by unnoticed. I try to capture the beauty of such a fleeting moment.
I find my inspiration in people on the street, my family, the people I meet in museums, my own photographs and magazines.
