Born and raised in the Netherlands, she started drawing at an early age.
Besides her career as a money broker and motherhood she followed a number of courses, e.g. mandala drawing and mental coaching, because she felt the need to address the more human side of life.
Drawing, creating, became her passion and medium of expression.
Mathilde Art's artwork reflects the hectic, the contradictions of the many influences in her life.
Influenced by moods, environments, dreams and crazy thoughts, she creates the first base of her drawings and spends many hours of her free time unleashing her imagination,
to complete the work step by step.
Inspired by mankind, nature, different cultures, spirituality and art, her therapeutic way is the creation of her drawing
She is a great admirer of different artists and they bring her many ideas and inspiration
She uses all kinds of materials to make her drawings, such as pen, pencil, colored pencil, India ink and sometimes even nail polish or paint.
She tries all kinds of materials she comes across along the way to create a new effect.
Each drawing in the Faces series hides a face.
She makes copies of her drawings on boards made of different materials such as dibond or aluminum, and manipulates them by hand to give them a special, unique layer, or even change the appearance completely.
Each plate is unique.
