Olga Talsma, born and raised on Schiermonnikoog, where she used to ride horses across the beach and dunes, now lives in Drenthe, where nature is a major source of inspiration.
She creates powerful portraits of women in which elegance, strength and freedom take centre stage – the very qualities she recognises in the horse as a metaphor.
Originally trained as a graphic designer, Olga chose to devote herself entirely to traditional painting, where she found her own style and expression. Her paintings are characterised by layering, a loose and intuitive touch, the use of natural materials, and a deep emotional layer present in every work. Inspiration and individuality are, for her, the most important prerequisites in art.
Olga exhibits throughout the year in the Netherlands and abroad. She also enjoys giving painting lessons and, on request, runs inspiring painting workshops.
