"When I look around me, I am often amazed by what I see. By light, a fleeting moment or unexpected confluence. There is no intention or message, but it gives me satisfaction to be able to capture that casual moment.
It started as a boy, with a small Agfa camera. With that, I mainly photographed my immediate surroundings. Then I discovered great photographers like Van der Elsken, Kertesz and later Saul Leiter. They made me look further afield. Both in cluttered cities and rugged landscapes. And so I continue to marvel."
