Discovering still life At first glance, Vincenzo's still lifes can sometimes be mistaken for paintings. Inspired by paintings from realism, the usual relationship between photography and painting is reversed. Instead of using photography as a starting point for a painting, as photorealists do, Vincenzo makes photographs using photorealism as inspiration. More inspiration is found in paintings from the Golden Age period, in particular the soft light and surrealism can be found in many photographs. Having said the above, Vincenzo cannot deny that the photographs have no meaning other than visual impact. The aim of his work is nothing other than to create a still life and to discover new ways of looking at familiar objects differently with his camera.
