About maud blom
As a linguistics student in Groningen, Maud could regularly be found out on the Frisian waters, the Groningen lakes and the Wadden Sea. She also expressed this passion at home, where she painstakingly painted these seascapes and ships. When she later moved to Belgium for love, she took the plunge as a self-employed artist to pursue this passion.
As an artist, Maud specialises in painting maritime scenes featuring, amongst other things, ships, bodies of water and cloudy skies. Using acrylic or watercolour paints, she captures both the turbulence and the tranquillity of the wind as it touches the water and the sails. This duality is what makes the experience of sailing so special, and it is also a key element in Maud’s paintings. Furthermore, her sailing experience ensures she has a keen eye for technical accuracy when painting ships.
