About ‘2 Cyclist in the Impressionist Forest Light’ by Di Maio Fotografie

When you look at this work, your gaze is immediately drawn into the depths. You see a lone cyclist on a forest path, riding away towards the light. The trees on either side form an almost cathedral-like arch, but thanks to the technique used, they are not sharp and static. They have been transformed into soft, vertical brushstrokes that emphasise the speed and fleeting nature of the moment.

My inspiration for this image stems from the desire to detach photography from pure reality. I didn't want to create a standard picture of a forest, but to capture the feeling of a memory. The atmosphere is dreamy and mysterious, like a scene from an old film or an impressionist painting. It evokes a sense of silence, but also of a journey: where is the cyclist going?

Technically, I used deliberate motion blur and post-processing that mimics the texture of painter's canvas. This removes distracting details and leaves only the essence of light and form. In an interior, this work creates a point of calm. The depth effect makes a room appear larger, while the soft tones and mystery remain intriguing without being overpowering. It fits beautifully in a space where you want to relax.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
