I took this photo on the beekhuizerzand near Harderwijk. It is a distinctive sand drift on the Veluwe that includes heathland. The dead bomb in the photo is probably a fallen pine, as there are more pines on the Beekhuizerzand. The heather in this photo is at the edge of the sand drift, I was standing with my back towards the drifting sand. As you can see, the heather was blooming a beautiful purple when I took this photo. I used 5 different photos with different exposures for this photo, I merged these 5 photos into HDR photo in post-processing. You can see structure in the clouds because of this and you can even see a few bits of blue sky, because it is an HDR you can also see details in the forest edge and the heather is nice and purple.
