The green peacock (Pavo muticus) is a bird of the order of the grouse birds. Like the other peacock species, the blue peacock, the green peacock is a colourful bird. The male's tail can fan out into a large fan that impresses the female. The female is less coloured than the male and has no tail that she can unfold. However, the distinction between the two sexes is not as great as in the blue peacock. In captivity, blue and green peacocks appear to cross easily.
