A young Lampong monkey on a tree trunk in Kerinci National Park. The lampong monkey, marmoset or pigtailed macaque (Macaca nemestrina) is a species of the genus macaques (Macaca). It is characterised by its short 'pigtail'. Males grow much larger and heavier than females. Like other macaques, the species has large canines.
