I took this photo of a grass ear in the Harderbroek in the municipality of Zeewolde. It was summer when I took this close up photo even though you wouldn't say so. When I took this it had just rained as you can see, there were still a few raindrops hanging on the spike. If you take a closer look, you can also see some seeds in this grass ear. I used an 85mm macro lens to take this photo. The spike in the photo was hanging over the path I was walking on, so I could easily reach it, despite the fact that I took it hand-held, the image stabilisation in the lens made it possible. In the background you can still see reeds standing in the area. The tussock of grass to which this grass ear belongs is therefore among the reeds.
