A male Utila iguana (Ctenosaura bakeri) is resting on a branch in the mangrove of Utila. This species only occurs on Utila and is therefore an endemic species of that island. Because it occurs only on Utila and this species is still hunted, it is seriously threatened. This species is a specialist of the mangrove and when threatened it will hide in tree hollows of the various mangrove species.
