More or less hidden in the grass is a nest of young swans. One of the parents is watching me carefully when I try to approach them for a picture. At a suitable distance, I point my camera at the scene without disturbing it or making both parents angry. The young swans still have their grey fluffy feathers and are partly hiding between their parents. Mute swans are not migratory and stay together all their lives. When one of the mute swans dies, it may take years before the survivor has a partner again.
