About ‘A peek under the hat’ by Rüdiger Lutz

In this black-and-white portrait, I have captured an intense, quiet moment. The hat sits low over the face, obscuring part of the person, yet the gaze remains clear and direct. It is precisely this interplay between concealment and revelation that makes the image special. The hand on the hat seems like a small gesture of pause, as if the person were opening up to the viewer for just a brief moment. What fascinates me about this motif is the understated tension. Nothing is loud or exaggerated, and yet a strong presence emerges. The dark background allows the face, hand and fabric to stand out clearly. The light falls softly on the eyes and the light-coloured clothing, whilst other areas disappear almost completely into the shadows. Upon closer inspection, subtle details emerge: the texture of the hat, the pale fingers at the edge, the gentle folds of the sleeve and the subtle play of shadows on the face. The work speaks of intimacy, mystery and a gaze that lingers in the space.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
