Aeolus is the god of wind in Greek and Roman mythology. Many mills in the Netherlands have therefore been given this name. Without exception, these have always been corn mills. One unusual oddity is the polder mill on the Aduarderdiep, which has long been called De Eolus.
The mill is postcode-technically part of Den Ham, but pumps the Fransumer polder and used to be classified under the tiny village of Fransum.
