A typical French village in the countryside by Fotografiecor .nl

This photograph captures the timeless essence of Crissay-sur-Manse, one of the most picturesque villages in the Loire Valley. The composition focuses on the texture of the monumental medieval houses, built from the characteristic limestone, beautifully weathered by time. The sharp details of the slate roofs contrast with the soft, green climbing plants and flowers that adorn the ancient walls. It is an image that makes the tranquillity and romance of the French countryside almost tangible.

As a travel photographer, I seek out places in the Loire Valley where modern life seems to stand still for a moment. Crissay-sur-Manse is one such hidden gem. Capturing the layered history within these stone walls and the carefully preserved architecture is, for me, a way of documenting the true soul of France, beyond the major tourist attractions.

This atmospheric, warm image is a perfect addition to a classic, country-style or rustic interior. For the best viewing experience, I recommend a print on matt fine-art paper, which further accentuates the depth of the stone texture and the natural colour tones of the vegetation.

Bring the romantic splendour of the French countryside into your home and add this atmospheric architectural piece from my portfolio to your collection.
