A view into the tree canopy – spring greenery backlit by Laura Georgi Tier- und Ladschaftsfotografie

Your gaze travels straight up, along the trunk, to where the tree
branches out into increasingly slender boughs. Viewed from below, you can see what you never notice
when walking past: the tree’s structure, the pattern of its branches, the
places where a branch has broken off and the trunk above has formed swellings
, and the lichen on the bark.

Above all this lies the fresh green of spring. The young leaves are still thin
and let the light shine through – this makes them glow from within, whilst
the branches stand out as dark lines in front of them. This contrast between light, almost
transparent foliage and heavy, dark branches underpins the entire image. Individual
leaves directly in front of the lens remain out of focus and lend the photograph depth, as if
you were standing right there beneath the tree.

As a wall hanging, this motif has been shown to have a calming effect – green hues and
natural textures are precisely what is sought after in interior design for this very purpose. It is suitable for
doctors’ surgeries, physiotherapy practices, psychotherapy and midwifery practices, yoga studios,
waiting areas, open-plan offices and meeting rooms, as well as for the living room,
bedroom or stairwell. Particularly in rooms without a view of greenery,
a picture like this can provide a glimpse of the outdoors. The spring green shines particularly
clearly on acrylic glass, whilst on canvas it appears softer and warmer.

A gift for forest lovers, walkers, foresters,
tree lovers and anyone who finds peace when looking up.
