About "Abandoned Italian Villa."

by Roman Robroek - Photos of Abandoned Buildings

About the artwork

This is a photo of an enchanting villa in Piedmont, Italy. This historic Second Empire style residence, built as a summer retreat by Marquis Giuseppe Pallavicino Mossi in the early 20th century, holds a captivating story.

Since the passing of the last descendant, Countess Bianca, in 1995, the villa has changed hands multiple times and undergone ongoing renovations. Nestled in a panoramic spot with a 360-degree view of Ivrea's morainic amphitheater, the villa's 'C' shape structure exudes French elegance across its two floors and attic.

The central terraced forepart showcases a lavish entrance with a graceful staircase, leading to a ground floor featuring a chapel, lounge, library, dining room, and more. The intermediate and attic floors housed galleries, bedrooms, and servants' quarters, creating a unique blend of luxury and functionality. A true architectural gem.
