A view of the village of Qullissat, evacuated in 1972, on the east side of Disko Island in Greenland. The town was the scene of local mining for several decades, but was closed due to Denmark's consolidation policy. Later, some landslide-created tsunamis hit the village. Some streets were totally wiped out.
Meanwhile, Qullissat is coming back to life a bit: former residents of the village can get the right to open up a house into a summer house.
