Very large abandoned nunnery in southern Belgium. Formerly a castle, built in 1786, after which the Sisters of St Charles moved in in 1892. In 1940, the building was occupied by the Germans. In the early 2000s, the building was bought by a property manager who wanted to turn it into flats, but these plans were never implemented.
The photo shows the convent's courtyard, with the walls becoming overgrown with ivy.
The work shows the decay of a place that was once built by and for people, but has since been abandoned for years.
