About ‘Abandoned spporweg bridge’ by Eddy Smets

The old railway bridge, once a busy link between two worlds, now stands in silence across the water. Its rusty metal structure tells the story of days gone by. The bridge, which once carried the daily sound of passing trains, is now a silent witness to the ravages of time. The rusty spots on the steel are the marks of years of exposure to weather and wind, a reminder of the impermanence of the man-made world.

The water under the bridge reflects the past, calm and unruffled, as nature has slowly put its grip around the rusty structure. Plants creep along the sides of the ironwork and moss has nestled in the smallest cracks. The bridge itself, once a symbol of progress and connection, is now a monument of the passage of time.

The place evokes a sense of melancholy. The echoes's of the past still seem to make themselves heard in the empty air around the bridge. The steel has decayed, but it remains standing, a still testimony to a time when the bridge played a vital role in daily life. The image of the rusty railway bridge over the water is both a tribute to history and a reminder that everything eventually gives way to something else.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
