This is an abandoned train station in Belgium. It's the first location I visited when I started visiting abandoned locations.
The station was built from 1915 to 1918 on the new German-constructed line from Aachen to Tongeren. In 1919, the marshalling yard was expanded to accommodate the supply of German material for repairing war damage.
In the 1930s the site flourished due to transport from the east to the Belgian seaports.
The site was destroyed in a bombing in 1944, but the station was rebuilt after the war.
In 1957 it was closed to passenger traffic.
