About ‘Abstract portrait of a young man’ by Cecile Mimpen-Mulder

Abstract portrait of a young man. The painting was made on canvas using mainly palette knife. Working with a palette knife in acrylic is for me one of the most fun techniques. Applying paint thickly and scraping it off partially. It does require technique and you should not be afraid to make mistakes.

Once you're on your way, always take a distance from your work, observe. And above all enjoy.

And then a canvas emerges that is realistic, yet abstract. This young man I made en profile is very fascinating to look at because of the shadows.

It is a tough painting with only the colors black, white and brown.

As a child, I was already drawing and painting. Yet I first chose to follow a fashion course. And also there I found drawing models the profession in which I could completely lose myself. After this education I followed a graphic design course. Also a course as an illustrator and lessons with various artists have brought me to the real art of painting in both oil and acrylic.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
