About "Agave leaves"

About the artwork

I was sitting on a pavement in Spain. Next to me was a small flowerbed full of plants. And as I sat there my eye fell on the agaves growing there - beautiful grey-green plants, with tiny spines at the edges of the fleshy leaves. And with a narrow yellow edge at the leaf margin. They look like an impregnable fortress for animals that would want to gnaw on them. Clearly a plant that can withstand hot and dry weather, I pushed closer and closer to the plant, it intrigued me. And suddenly I saw the imprint of one leaf inside another. The leaves growing in the centre of the plant are so tightly wedged into the larger leaves as they grow larger that the imprint of the leaf edge and spines is imprinted into them. The larger leaves no longer had the imprint, so somewhere along the way it disappears. Just like the fresh green colour that the leaf shows where just another leaf has let go. Extraordinary, this visible urge to grow with which the leaves push outwards. And a beautiful interplay of lines, too.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
