Not every spice vendor in Morocco is into it, it's quite a job. But if you are lucky you will see these points of spices somewhere. Or baskets full of spices and dried rose petals and beautiful towers of oranges and other fruit. The beautiful towers in the picture were in Marrakech. Somewhere on a corner of a street near a small grocery shop. It is still a mystery to me how they went in every evening and were brought out again in the morning. Maybe with a hat over them in the same shape? The spices with a row of sandalwood, pink rose petals, salt, peppercorns and other products in front of them immediately caught my attention. The towers, the colours. They are a beautiful and inviting advertisement for the shop and for the food you can make if you take these products home. Inside, it was a typical small Moroccan spice shop with fluorescent lights and rows full of jars with mysterious items in them. No nameplates and in all the colours of the world - a dream shop for those who love Arabic food.
