About "Ahead into the unknown - view of the Monument to the Discoveries from the Tagus"

About the artwork

This photo shows the Padrão dos Descobrimentos from an impressive perspective: directly from the banks of the Tagus. The view of the monument makes the imposing structure look like the bow of a gigantic ship - ready to set sail for the horizon. At the head is Henry the Navigator, the symbol of the Portuguese spirit of discovery, followed by the great figures of seafaring, science, religion and culture of the 15th and 16th centuries.

The monument rises boldly into the immaculate blue sky - a stone homage to the Age of Discovery. The powerful form is reminiscent of a sail in the wind that once carried Portugal out into the world. It is precisely this movement, this spirit of optimism, that can be felt in this composition.

This motif appeals to lovers of architecture, history and maritime symbolism in equal measure. As a mural, it brings a touch of Portuguese grandeur to any room - and tells of the courage to think beyond one's own horizons.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
