Alexander Konstantinovich Bogomazov (1880-1930) was a Ukrainian painter, art theorist and one of the most important representatives of the Ukrainian avant-garde. He is considered a co-founder of Cubofuturism and developed his own art-philosophical doctrine of rhythm, movement and form in his theoretical work "Painters and Elements" (1914). His works combine cubist structures with futuristic dynamics and often depict landscapes, cityscapes and scenes of modern life. Bogomazov was also a teacher at the Kiev Art Academy and influenced numerous young artists.
