About ‘Alhambra - Patio de la Acequia - 2’ by René Weijers

The Patio de la Acequia in the Generalife, part of the Alhambra complex in Granada.
The Generalife villa and its gardens were used by the Muslim kings of Granada as a retreat and place of rest. It was designed as a rural village, integrating ornamental gardens, orchards and architecture within the surroundings of the Alhambra.
